Tracy started 7th and finished 6th on a very heavy track in the heat race.  He would start 17th in the A Main and would work his way up to 8th place by the midway point of the race.  However, a caution would come out on lap 14 and force him to move back behind the two cars that he just passed.  In the final laps of the race, Nichols would get by a few more cars and wind up finishing 6th.

Tracy started 6th and ran 2nd to Mike Trent in his heat race.  Nichols would start the feature on the inside of the 6th row.  On the start of the race nearly half of the field wrecked coming out of turn 2.  Tracy almost got through it before sustaining a flat left rear tire and damage to the tail tank.  Tracy would restart 12th and would work his way up to a 6th place finishing position.

The track was once again just a train around the bottom tonight.  Tracy started 4th in his heat and ran 4th.  Tracy started the B Feature on the pole and won it to transfer into the A.  Nichols started 20th and finished 19th in the B.

Tracy fought a tight car this evening and ran 4th in his heat and 5th in the B Feature.

August 22, 2004
State Fair Speedway
The combination of starting 6th and missing the setup on the car caused Tracy to finish 7th in his heat.  Tracy started the feature 21st and was able to move by 12 cars in 20 laps to come home 9th.

August 21, 2004
Lake Ozark Speedway
Tracy started 4th in his heat and found himself in the lead by the end of the first lap.  Tracy checked out and easily won the heat race.  Due to Eldon's invert, Nichols started the Feature 10th.  Tracy fought a loose car during the "A" and was able to finish 5th place.

Knoxville Raceway
Brodix Tournament of Champions
Tracy started and finished his heat race 5th.  Tracy started 4th in the B Main and needed to finish first or second to move into the A main.  Tracy would have a solid 4th place run, loosing the likes of 2-time Knoxville Points Champion Randy Martin, current Knoxville Points Leader Jake Peters, and John Kearney who is 3rd in wins all time in the 360 division at Knoxville Raceway driver.  Tracy will next race at Lake Ozark Speedway on August 21.

August 7, 2004
Lake Ozark Speedway
Tracy started 6th in his heat and would go on to win it easily.  Nichols stated the feature in the 10th position.  Tonight we went the opposite direction with the setup, loose.  The car was simply too loose and we could not get any grip coming off of the corners.  Tracy would go on to finish 8th place.

August 6, 2004
State Fair Speedway
Tracy started 2nd in his heat race and grabbed the lead in turn 1 on the high side.  Tracy won the heat by  a straightaway.  Tracy started the feature 1st, but was passed by Gennetten on the high side of turn 1.  Randy Martin got by Tracy a couple of laps later.  Gennetten cut a tire down by clipping a spun out car and would not restart.  This bumped Tracy up to 2nd, where he would finish.

Lake Ozark Speedway
Tracy started 6th in his heat race and finished 2nd.  Tracy started 8th and fell back to 12th early on while running the bottom.  Nichols started to run the cushion and proceeded to charge towards the front.  Tracy came home 5th place.  Randy Martin won the race by .07 seconds over Brian Brown.

State Fair Speedway
Tracy started 7th in his heat race a raced his way to a 4th place finish.  Tracy started the A Main 10th and worked his way up to 7th in the first 5 laps.  Tracy moved up to 6th when second place Curtis Boyer blew his motor on lap 9.  On lap 13, Tracy got around Mike Trent to break into the top 5.  Tracy would finish 5th and moved into 2nd place in the W.O.W. points standings.

The Putnam Chevrolet #19 got banged up in the heat race.  We were able to change a flat left rear and get back out to run 6th.  After startin the feature 16th, Tracy was up in the 8th position by the midway point.  However, the car got very tight late in the race and Tracy fell back to 10th.

Tonight did not get off to a very good start.  As we were pushing the car off to warm up the motor, Tracy discovered that the power steering pump was malfunctioning.  As a result we were unable to get the car fixed until after hot laps.  Tracy started 5th in his heat and finished 4th.  Tracy started the A Main 11th and worked his way up to 6th  by lap 5.  Tracy grabbed one more position on lap 8 to move into the 5th place.  Tracy would end up finishing 5th place, which is not a bad run considering how the night started.

The night got off to a good start, as Tracy started and finished on the pole in his heat race.  This enabled him to start on the pole in the A Main.  Tracy grabbed the lead in turn 1 on the first lap only to lose it to Brian Brown in turn 2.  Tracy appeared to have either a 1st or 2nd place run going until bad luck showed its ugly head again.  Tracy was running 2nd on lap 4 when he drove into turn 3.  The green light still showed on the lights around the speedway, but there was a lapped car spun out in the middle of turn 3 and 4.  Tracy drove high to avoid the car and tagged the guardrail and flipped.  Tracy was alright, but the car is not.  The Maxim is going to need a little surgery before it can get back on dirt.  The first half of the season has produced 2 blown engines, a broken rear end, a bent axle, a punctured radiator, a wadded up car, and a win.

Nichols ran second in his heat after starting 4th.  This enabled Tracy to line up 6th for the A Main.  On the opening lap, Tracy got tangled up with another car and would spin out in turn 1.  The track officials deemed it was not Tracy's fault.  The rules allow you to get your spot back only on the initial start of the race and only if you didn't cause the caution.  Tracy quickly settled into 5th after the restart.  About 10 laps in, Tracy would get by Corbin for 4th.  A few laps later, Tracy would pass Bunton.  Bryan Grimes won the race, Randy Martin 2nd, and Tracy came home 3rd.

June 25, 2004
State Fair Speedway
Tracy finished 2nd in his heat to Randy Martin.  Tracy started 4th in the feature and ran there most of the evening.  Tracy moved up to 3rd on lap 15.  Two laps later Tracy got real loose in turn 4 and fell back 3 spots.  Tracy ended up finishing 5th in the Putnam Chevrolet #19.

Lake Ozark Speedway
Due to kthe point average system that LOS uses and the fact that Tracy has not raced at the last 2 point races at the speedway, we were forced to start in the back of our heat.  Tracy would move up 2 positions and finish 6th on a very slick track.  The track remained slick for the feature and passing was at a premium.  Tracy moved up 4 spots in the first 10 laps and traded in running the bottom of the track for the middle.  This was a smart move and Tracy began to move by more cars.  Two laps later, the caution came out and Nichols was forced to give up one of his gained spots.  After the restart, the car was never the same.  Couple that with the fact that more drivers started to run the middle and it would equate to a 10th place.

June 11, 2004
Knoxville Raceway
Tracy started 6th in his heat and was poised to move up at the start of the race.  The #19 popped a wheely after jumping the right rear tire of the car in front of Tracy at the start of the race.  Tracy was able to continue, but badly damaged his front axle.  He would finish the race 6th.  Team 19 went to work and swapped front axles between races.  Tracy started the B on the inside of the 5th row.  Tracy worked his way up to the 6th position and then began to smoke.  Tracy backed off of the throttle, fearing the engine was going south.  Tracy would wind up 9th.  Later investigation show that 2 bolts broke on the valve cover.

Tracy Nichols, who started on the pole, beat Tim Doogs into turn 1 for the lead.  Tim Doogs and Randy Martin spent most of the first two laps fighting for the runner up position.  On lap 2, Randy Martin slipped in front of Doogs and set his sight on the #19 of Tracy Nichols.  Tracy, however, was too fast in the early going for Randy.  By lap 7, Tracy stretched his lead out to 12 car lengths.  On lap 11, Jon Corbin broke his motor and leaked oil onto the track.  As a result, a caution was brought out.  The yellow flag was just what the Randy Martin needed to allow him to catch up to Nichols.  On the restart, Nichols took off like he was shot out of a cannon.  Three laps after the restart, Nichols had pulled away by 13 car lengths over the Diamond Pet Foods/ Hoosier Racing Tire/ Weld Wheels/ Maxim of Randy Martin.  Tracy continued to pull away in the closing laps.  When Tracy took the checkered flag, second place Randy Martin was back in turn 3.  Tracy is sponsored by Putnam Chevrolet-Pontiac, Pro Powder Coating, Buckingham Smokehouse BBQ, CarQuest, Yeagers Cycles, and JD Engine & Machine.  Tracy would also like to thank John at USA Performance Engines for the motor that powered him to victory this evening.

Tracy won his heat after starting 2nd.  This put Tracy on the inside of the 2nd row for the feature.  Tracy was running 3rd in the Feature until he cracked a piston on lap 2 and pulled into the pits.  Team 19 felt they really had a good chance of winning tonight, but bad luck struck again.  Bryan finished 4th in the 19B after starting 9th.

May 29, 2004
24 Raceway Park
Once again, Tracy was forced to start in the rear on his heat.  After starting 5th, Nichols was able to finish his heat race 2nd.  This enabled him to start the feature on the outside of the second row.  Tracy did not get a very good start and would fall back to fifth.  A Bobby Hawks spin on the second lap moved Tracy up to 4th.  Tracy passed Jon Corbin on lap 10 for 3rd place.  Tracy was able to close in on Hinck in lapeed traffic, but was unable to get by him.  Tracy would have to settle for 3rd, Team 19's best finish this year.

Lake Ozark Speedway
Tracy was forced to start at the rear of the heat race (7th) since he did not run at Lake Ozark Speedway last week.  He finished the race 5th.  Tracy started 14th in the feature.  He would move up 7 spots throughout the evening and would come home in 7th.  Next weekend, Team 19 will race at Moberly on Saturday Night and at Sedalia on Sunday.

State Fair Speedway
The track was simply too wet tonight and to make things worse Tracy had to start at the back of his heat.  Nichols started 5th and finished 4th in our heat.  The A-Main was simply follow the leader.  Tracy started 10th and came home in 9th.  Randy Martin led flag to flag to win his second race of the year.

May 15, 2004
Knoxville Raceway
Tracy started his heat race 10th and was able to moved up to 5th during the 7 laps.  This would enable Tracy to start on the inside of the 7th row in the A Main.  Tracy slid back a couple of positions at the start of the race.  After a couple of early race cautions, Tracy started making a charge towards the front.  Tracy was able to move up to 11th place, but would have moved up further with additional laps.

May 14, 2004
State Fair Speedway
The track was extremely heavy tonight which means it was really fast.  Tracy took 2nd in his heat race after starting 3rd.  Tracy started 6th in the A Main and moved up to 5th in the early going.  The car was fast and the evening looked very promising until the rear end broke going down the back stretch just 6 laps in.

Tracy took another 5th place finish in Sedalia tonight.  He started 2nd in his heat race and that is where he finished.  Tracy had to fight a tight car for the whole Feature and was unable to get much going.  He ended up finishing 5th at the drop of the checkers.

Team 19 drew a bad pill and was forced to start the heat race from the 8th position.  During the heat race, Tracy was able to make the charge up to 4th place.  After starting the feature 11th, Tracy was able to pick off cars one by one and progressively moved up towards the front.  At the end of the evening we came home in 5th place.
